About
TFALG is actually a book, and it was written from a unique perspective: it is as if God has sat you down on a park bench, and as a loving father He is having a heart-to-heart talk with you. You can view a reading schedule for the book to be used as a daily devotional for one month. You can also view a brief history of how this book all came about here.
However, here on the weblog the format is a bit more open-ended. Each day I will try to share any number of my own writings, poetry, sayings, Bible verses, videos and other multimedia material. There’s just a few principles I have for this weblog:
- I seek to edify and encourage the body of Christ.
- I always try to keep my material fresh and original.
Looking at the categories listed along the top of this page, you’ll see the follow headings:
Christian Devotions/Bible Study: This is where most of my everyday entries occur, which are usually my own observations and/or insights on the Bible, and applying it to everyday life.
Godly Sayings: Sometimes instead of the daily devotional written above, I’ll analyze a saying or a notable quote made by a christian or godly person, and attempt to find some sort of christian application.
Heart Messages: These are writings that follow in the same vein as the book itself: written as if God has sat you down, and is having a heart-to-heart talk with you. Usually I also try to include Bible verses to read at the end too, under the heading “Delve Deeper.”
Poetry for Christians: Sometimes instead of the daily devotional or Bible study, I’ll include a poem written either by me, or another christian, or sometimes a secular poet if it has a good application for christian life.
Video Devotionals: As I get the time, I will occasionally make a chapter from Tears from a Lonely God, or a related “heart message” into a video devotional. These videos feature fitting music, natural photography, and text: all synchronized together in an attempt to express the words and thoughts written on the page more vividly.
In addition to this, there is also one additional category that isn’t listed to save on space, and that’s the posts that fall under Website News.
