As Sheep Among Wolves
“When preying upon God’s flock, the devil is after leather, not wool.”
That is to say, the devil wants nothing other than our complete destruction. He is not after us to merely “fleece” us of our outer wool, but to tear us limb-from-limb. He is not playing games, and so neither should we with him.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: -1 Peter 5:8
If you will recall Jesus’ words to His disciples, He said that we are sent out “as sheep in the midst of wolves” (Matthew 10:16), and if we fully realize this implication, it is very sobering.
How dangerous would it be for a sheep to be in the midst of wolves? Maybe during the day, out in the open with others, it wouldn’t be quite as bad, but the wolves are no doubt continually thinking of the sheep, “as soon as I get the opportunity, I will kill!”

Wolves kill.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. -Acts 20:28-29
